Worms, January 14, 2026 – KOBIL has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the successful rollout of the European Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI Wallet) in Germany and across the EU. The aim of the agreement is to establish the use of the EUDI Wallet quickly and comprehensively across the economy and society.
The KOBIL solutions SuperApp OneApp4All™, KOBIL mPower, and KOBIL AppShield are already EUDI Wallet–ready today. For 40 years, KOBIL has been developing solutions for secure identity management, digital credentials, and trusted transactions. To this end, KOBIL implements digital ecosystems “made in Europe” and works closely with cities, public authorities, financial institutions, and enterprises.
Ismet Koyun, CEO and Founder, KOBIL Group: “Our involvement in the EUDI Wallet initiative is another step for KOBIL in actively shaping European standards for digital sovereignty.”
What is the MoU with the Federal Government and Bitkom?
Through the MoU, the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernization (BMDS), Bitkom, and the participating companies agree on close cooperation to achieve broad acceptance and rapid market introduction of the EUDI-Wallet. The BMDS will regularly inform companies about the current state of development and technical specifications and incorporate their feedback into the ongoing process. Bitkom will support this effort with structured dialogue formats between policymakers and industry.
All EU member states must provide a wallet solution by the end of 2026. By 2030, around 80% of EU citizens are expected to be able to use the wallet.
